Publication-quality figures for ML papers: picks the chart type for your results, writes the matplotlib or seaborn code and checks its colors for contrast. Use it to compare methods, baselines or ablations in a chart, to check whether text and figure colors meet a contrast ratio, or to plan an architecture diagram from your method section.
Builds an animation from scratch the way a design engineer would: it chooses the curve, duration and properties, keeps motion off the main thread where it matters, and explains the choice.
Translates Apple's interface and motion principles into web code: spring curves, gesture physics, translucent materials and typography, as explained in Apple's WWDC design sessions.
Turn the project you just built into a short, shareable launch video with one command. Your agent reads the project code, so no live URL or screenshots are needed.
Anthropic's canvas-design skill guides Claude to produce finished visual artefacts (posters, covers, social graphics) by composing on an HTML canvas with deliberate typography, grid and colour decisions rather than defaulting to a template.
A universal SEO skill for Claude Code: 26 sub-skills and 19 specialist sub-agents covering technical audits, content quality, schema, E-E-A-T, local and e-commerce SEO, hreflang, backlinks, sitemaps, images, generative-engine optimisation and agent readiness (llms.txt, WebMCP).
Emil Kowalski's design-engineering philosophy as a skill: animation decisions (curves, durations, which properties to animate and which not to), component polish and the invisible details that make software feel right.
Create, animate, review and render videos in code with fframes: Rust, SVG scenes and GPU rendering. Covers setup, motion design, sound, a live preview window and automatic checks without watching the render.
Makes the agent interview you about a plan or design, one question at a time with a recommended answer attached, until every branch of the decision tree is resolved and you both share the same understanding.
Compacts a long conversation into a handoff document another agent (or a fresh session) can continue from: the goal, decisions made, current state, open questions and the exact next step.
Write HTML, render video: build HyperFrames compositions with timed clips, seekable GSAP animation, captions, audio and sub-compositions, ready to render to MP4 with the HyperFrames CLI.
Stops the agent from burying the answer. Ten output rules: lead with the next action, number multi-step work, end with one concrete next step, suppress tangents, restate state each turn, give time estimates in minutes, make wins visible, report errors matter-of-factly, cap lists at five, and no prea
A design language for AI harnesses: 24 commands (craft, audit, polish, harden, animate, colorize, typeset, layout, distill, bolder, quieter and more), 60 deterministic detector rules and a live in-browser mode.
Turn a topic into an Apple Live Photo info card: checked facts, a designed cover and Remotion animation for comparisons, processes and data stories, exported as a paired Live Photo.
Professional logo and brand-mark design from brief to production files: concepts, clean geometric SVG, optical refinement, tests at 16 px and in one colour, presentation boards and brand guidelines.
Make a code-rendered lyric music video for a finished song: every sung word lands on its own syllable inside dense animated graphics, with a recurring character, rendered offline at 1080p60. No video model.
Anthropic's skill for building MCP servers: it walks the agent through tool design, schemas, transports and testing so the server it generates follows the Model Context Protocol correctly and works in Claude Code, Cursor and Codex.
Lets Claude Code generate and edit images with Google's Nano Banana (Gemini image) models from a plain prompt: text-to-image, edits of an existing image, photo restoration, icons, diagrams, patterns and sequential story images.
Official skills from Obsidian's CEO that teach agents to work correctly with a vault: Obsidian-flavoured Markdown (wikilinks, embeds, callouts, properties), Bases (views, filters, formulas), JSON Canvas files, the Obsidian CLI, defuddle for clean web-to-markdown extraction, and knap for templated note generation.
Turn a feature request into an OpenSpec change before any code is written: proposal, delta specs, design and implementation tasks, grounded in the project's existing specs.
General-purpose browser automation for coding agents: the agent writes and runs custom Playwright scripts on the fly, from a single page check to a multi-step flow, with a visible browser by default so you can watch it.
The lazy senior developer ruleset: before writing code the agent climbs a decision ladder (is it needed, does something reusable exist, is there a built-in) and only then writes the minimum.
Included with SkillGild Pro. Checks the colors in your charts, slides or interface against WCAG contrast ratios with SkillGild's palette validator, and suggests passing alternatives. More premium skills will be added as they launch.
Anthropic's skill for writing skills: it scaffolds a SKILL.md with correct frontmatter, asks the right questions about triggers and scope, adds scripts and references, and reviews the result against the Agent Skills spec.
A skill file that teaches the model to recognise and remove its own writing tells: throat-clearing openers, 'not X but Y' contrasts, dramatic fragments, emphasis crutches, business jargon and padded adverbs.
Supabase's official skills: one for the whole platform (client libraries, auth troubleshooting, CLI, Postgres extensions) and one for Postgres performance and row-level security best practices.
Anti-slop frontend skill for landing pages, portfolios and redesigns. Reads the brief, picks the right design direction and ships interfaces that do not look templated.
The anti-slop frontend skill: a set of SKILL.md files that push an agent toward stronger layout, typography, spacing and motion so generated interfaces stop looking generic.
A model-invoked red-green-refactor loop: the agent writes a failing test first, makes it pass with the smallest change, then refactors, and refuses to skip steps.
Interactive isometric line illustrations that answer the pointer, touch, the keyboard and live data. Your agent designs the instrument; the engine handles input, themes and accessibility, and it ships as a React component, a web component and a preview page.
Turn your own narration and real assets (book covers, screenshots, logos) plus a chosen visual style into a 20 to 60 second cinematic promo, or turn a script into an animated illustration clip.
Anthropic's skill for testing local web apps with a real browser: start the app, drive it with Playwright, capture screenshots and console errors, and report what broke.
Karpathy's observations on how LLMs fail at coding, codified into four rules the agent follows: think before coding (state assumptions, ask instead of guessing), simplicity first, surgical changes, and goal-driven execution.

A Claude Code skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file, plus optional scripts and references, that Claude loads when a task matches its description. It gives Claude a repeatable method for one kind of job. SkillGild lists hosted skills, which run through its MCP server, and community skills, which install from their public repositories.
Where are Claude Code skills stored?
Personal skills live in ~/.claude/skills/<skill-name>/ and project skills in .claude/skills/<skill-name>/ inside the repository. skillgild install <slug> --agent claude-code writes to the personal folder; add --target to choose another root.
How do I install a skill in Claude Code?
Install the SkillGild CLI, run skillgild login, register the MCP server with claude mcp add --scope user skillgild -- $(command -v skillgild) mcp, then run skillgild install <slug> --agent claude-code. Community skills are cloned from their repository; hosted skills get a small wrapper and run through MCP.
Are Claude Code skills free?
Community skills are free under their own licenses. Hosted SkillGild skills include free monthly runs; paid skills need a purchase or SkillGild Pro. Your own Claude usage is billed by Anthropic either way.
What is the difference between a skill, a plugin and an MCP server in Claude Code?
A skill is instructions for a job. A plugin bundles skills, commands, agents and MCP servers so they install together from a marketplace. An MCP server gives Claude access to a tool or data source. SkillGild's own MCP server serves its hosted skills; its catalog lists plain skills you can install with or without a plugin.
Can I use Claude Code skills in Codex or Cursor?
Usually yes. A plain SKILL.md folder follows the open Agent Skills format that Codex, Cursor, Gemini CLI and other clients read; only the folder location differs. Use --agent codex, cursor or gemini-cli with the SkillGild CLI, or copy the folder to that client's skills directory.
