Quickstart for everyone
No coding needed. Create an account, let your AI assistant connect itself, and use your first skill in about ten minutes.
No coding needed. In about ten minutes, your AI assistant can use SkillGild skills: expert reviews, audits and generators that run on SkillGild and hand the result back to your assistant.
#What you need
- An AI coding assistant: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI.
- A Google or GitHub account to sign in with.
That's it. Free skills include free runs every month, so you can try them without paying anything.
#Step 1: Create your account
Go to Create account and continue with Google or GitHub. You land in your account, where you can see your connected devices and usage later.
#Step 2: Let your assistant set things up
The easiest way to connect is to let your AI assistant do the setup. Open your assistant in any project and paste this message:
Please set up SkillGild for me by following https://skillgild.dev/docs/quickstart-agents
Explain each step in plain language and ask me before running any command.
When a sign-in code appears, tell me so I can approve it in my browser.Your assistant will:
- Install the SkillGild helper app on your computer.
- Show you a short code, such as
ABCD-EFGH, and open a SkillGild page in your browser. Check that the code matches, then click Approve. - Connect itself to SkillGild, so it can find and run skills.
Prefer to do it yourself? Follow Connect your agent step by step.
#Step 3: Pick a skill
Browse all skills or the curated collections. Each skill page shows:
- What it does, in a sentence or two.
- Free or paid, and how many free runs you get each month.
- What it needs from you, such as a description, some code or a link.
When you find one you like, ask your assistant to install it:
Install the SkillGild skill "accessibility-audit" for yourself.#Step 4: Use it
Now just ask for what you want in plain language. Your assistant recognizes when a SkillGild skill fits and uses it.
Check my signup page for accessibility problems and suggest fixes.Your assistant sends only what the skill needs to SkillGild, gets the result back, and shows you the proposed changes before applying them.
#Step 5: Keep an eye on things
Everything lives in your account:
| You want to | Where |
|---|---|
| See which computers are connected | Agent connections |
| Disconnect a computer | Agent connections, then Disconnect |
| Get help, or ask about paid skills | Activity & support or Billing |
| Report a skill that misbehaves | Report this skill on the skill page |
#Good to know
What does it cost? Free skills come with a monthly allowance of free runs, usually 25 per skill, which resets on the 1st of each month. Paid skills show their price on the skill page. Coming soon Buying paid skills directly; for now, ask under Account → Billing.
What does SkillGild see? Only the input your assistant sends for a run, such as the page description you asked about. SkillGild doesn't store that input or the result with your run history.
Is it safe for my assistant to use? Skills return suggestions; your assistant still shows you changes and asks before doing anything destructive. Never ask it to send passwords, keys or private files you don't want shared.
